Last week we had the opportunity to attend Fashionably Pink, a runway show benefiting local non-profit Stiletto Stampede and featuring Austin designers. We had such a great time watching all the pink dresses float down the runway that today we want to tell you more about what all the fabulous ladies and gentlemen over at Stiletto Stampede do.
The organization was founded by volunteers in 2009 to raise awareness and increase education about breast cancer. The main event that Stiletto Stampede hosts is a race, but unlike other non-profit races and walks they’ve added a fun twist. The race is a hundred yard dash — in heels. Many women let their creativity shine through by going further and decorating heels specifically for the event.
The cool thing about the Stiletto Stampede is that it’s not just women who participate in the race and show their support for the fight against breast cancer (after all, men can be diagnosed, too).
We can’t think of an organization that better combines two of our favorite things: fashion and lifting the world! If you’re interested in getting involved check out their volunteer page.
